Case studies, not showreels - the story behind each one, not just the finished cut

Produced for Northway Preservation, this video was built to do one specific job: walk homeowners through the full woodworm picture — what it is, where it comes from, how to identify it, and what Northway actually does about it — without resorting to a hard sell. Filmed on location in Harrogate with founder Lewis Burrows presenting directly to camera, it reflects the honesty that defines Northway's approach: not every case needs treatment, and that's said plainly, alongside a clear walkthrough of the survey, report, treatment and guarantee process. It's gone on to do real work for the business too — several enquiries have referenced the video directly when getting in touch.

This video was made for the University of Huddersfield's presence on the BTMA stand at a healthcare exhibition in Riyadh in early 2020 — a major international medical trade show. The brief came with real constraints: it had to run on a loop alongside other organisations' content on a shared exhibition screen, with no presenter and no captive audience, so it needed to communicate the university's medical textiles expertise visually and quickly to people walking past. Rather than lean on narration, the video does the work through imagery and pacing alone.

This promotional video for the University of Huddersfield's MSc Product Innovation with Textiles course was made under an unusual constraint — no access to campus, no location filming, no new footage of any kind. Instead it's built from stock imagery, a small set of original photographs, and voiced narration, pieced together into something that still does its job: explaining the course clearly and making the case for it. Sometimes the most useful skill isn't having the right resources — it's making do well with the ones you've got.
